Entrepreneurship is one of the major pillars for peacebuilding through the fight against youth underemployment and the low level of economic development in the Great Lakes region.
An Entrepreneurship Contest has been organized since 2016. During this competition more than a hundred young entrepreneurs from North Kivu submit their business ideas in the form of a business plan. After analyzing these business plans, the Amani Festival selects 10 finalists who present their business project orally to the participants of the entrepreneurship forum.
A jury of experts closes this competition of business creation projects by awarding 4 winners with a prize worth USD 2500.
In this space, entrepreneurs from Goma and its surroundings vigorously expose their products and services to the 36,000 participants of the festival.
Through its entrepreneurship contest and forum but also through the Entrepreneurship Space, the Amani Festival meets its objective; that of supporting innovative and ambitious entrepreneurship activities in Goma and in the Great Lakes region and thus to consolidate peace through the fight against youth underemployment and weak economic development.
