Playing for change, singing for peace

Alif Naaba

Style : Pop
Pays : Burkina Faso

Nicknamed the “Barefoot prince” of Burkina Faso, Alif Naaba comes from a large family.

Alif’s childhood was scored by the songs of his mother, a traditional singer. His music draws on this intimacy, this complicity and this secret bond between a mother and her son.

Alif Naaba creates cross-cultural folk music which blends French and Moré (Burkina Faso’s national language). The young singer and guitar player’s sweet melodies pay tribute to the musical traditions of the “land of the honest men” through cheerful or intimate ballads, with hints of jazz and African pop.
